Pink is set to kick off the 2026 Tony Awards with an ambitious opening number that brings together some of the biggest creative forces in musical theater.

The performance was created with the help of songwriters Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the award-winning duo known for their work on major stage and film productions. Their involvement has sparked interest among theater fans ahead of the ceremony.

Speaking about the opening number, Pink said the goal was to create something entertaining while also showing a lighter side of herself. She explained that the performance includes moments of humor and self-awareness alongside the large-scale production.

The singer also revealed that the number will feature as many as 170 people on stage, making it one of the most elaborate performances of the night. The production is expected to combine music, choreography, and theatrical elements in a way that reflects the spirit of the awards show.

Pink has previously worked with Pasek and Paul, recording A Million Dreams for a project connected to The Greatest Showman. That connection has led some fans to wonder whether the new performance will carry a similar musical theater energy.

The Tony Awards will celebrate the best of Broadway while showcasing performances from some of the industry’s biggest names.
