Mick Jagger is reportedly exploring the possibility of bringing the Rolling Stones’ story to the big screen, inspired in part by the ambitious Beatles film project currently in development.
Recent discussions around the band suggest Jagger has become interested in how a Rolling Stones movie could present more than six decades of music, touring and cultural influence. His involvement could also give him a direct role in shaping how the group’s history is portrayed.
The renewed interest follows plans for director Sam Mendes to create four separate Beatles films, each centered on the perspective of a different band member. Those movies are scheduled for release in 2028.
Jagger has generally kept some distance from traditional autobiography, even as bandmate Keith Richards published his memoir Life in 2010. He does, however, have extensive experience with film production and has been involved in documentaries, concert films and other screen projects connected to the Rolling Stones.
No official Rolling Stones movie has been announced.
